Advanced Brioche

Duration: 3 hours 

Materials: 

-Yarn: 2 different colors DK or worsted weight yarn

- Needles: US 8 circular needles 16" or 24”

- Notions: tapestry needle, stitch marker, point protectors (optional).

- California Dreaming Cowl Pattern

Take your brioche knitting to the next level and learn increases, decreases, how to fix mistakes and  the best cast-ons and bind-offs for this beautiful reversible stitch. In this class we will create the California Dreaming Cowl.

Prerequisites: must know how to brioche knit (brk) and brioche purl (brp)

Beginner Brioche

Duration: 3 hours

-Yarn: 2 different colors DK or worsted weight yarn

- Needles: US 8 circular needles 16" or 24” or US 6 circular needles 16" or 24”

- Notions: tapestry needle, stitch marker, point protectors (optional).

- Mala Cowl Pattern

Brioche creates a fluffy and beautifully reversible stitch pattern. If brioche has seemed daunting to you in the past this basics brioche class is for you. Brioche in the round makes the stitch pattern accessible to anyone who can knit, purl, or slip stitches. In this class we will create the Mala Cowl. 

Skill Level: Intermediate knitter

Bend, sip & stitch

Duration: 3 hours

Materials: Worsted weight yarn and appropriate sized needles.

Knitting is the new yoga! Learn the meditative nature of knitting, and simple stretches to keep your wrists and neck healthy while knitting. In this class we knit an eye pillow while you learn stretches that are specifically designed to complement your knitting practice. The eye pillow can be used to enhance your meditation at home or during savasana at the end of your yoga practice. Our class is complemented by a soothing selection of teas to enjoy while honing your skills. No prior yoga experience necessary. Beginner to advanced knitters welcome.

Stop drop and yoga. 🧘‍♀️Taking frequent

Mindful knitting

Duration: 2 hours

Materials: Any yarn you have and are willing to play with and appropriate sized needles.

Mindfulness involves a conscious direction of our awareness on the present. When you're mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them as "good" or "bad". Explore turning your knitting into a mindfulness practice. In this class we learn mindfulness techniques while knitting a simple garter stitch scarf. We also explore how to incorporate contemplative practices into your crafting. The goal of this class is to learn to be present with your knitting. No prior yoga experience required.  

Skill Level: Beginner to advanced

Yoga for crafters

Duration: 1 hour

Materials: None

Working on your craft, like knitting or spinning, can be very meditative as it encourages you to focus on the present and keep a clear mind. Although they are generally considered low-impact, the repetitive movements associated with these activities can cause injuries over time. We have used our yoga expertise to develop a series of simple stretches and mindfulness exercises to prevent these common maladies. Play with simple yoga stretches and breathing techniques to enhance your knitting, crocheting, spinning or sewing. No matter the craft or level you are at, these yoga practices can help you craft for longer.

Skill Level: Beginner - No prior knitting or yoga experience required.
